The Gustavus men's basketball dropped a non-conference match-up to Division II Minnesota State University, Moorhead on Sunday afternoon in Moorhead by the score of 68-57. Tyler Grey led the Gusties in scoring with 11 points.

The Gustavus men's basketball team opened up a double-digit lead midway through the first half and never looked back on its way to a convincing 90-68 win over Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minn. on Saturday night. James Hill led the Gusties with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

MIAC Football Coaches Select Opdahl, Kruckeberg To All-Conference Team

Gustavus Adolphus sophomore left guard Lyle Opdahl and junior free safety Brad Kruckeburg have been named 2010 MIAC Second Team All-Conference as a part of the 2010 MIAC Football Awards announced Tuesday, Nov. 23 by the league office. Cody Sukalski was named to the 2010 All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

Second Period Scoring Surge Lifts Men’s Hockey To 6-2 Win Over Concordia (Wis.)

The Gusties scored two goals in the first period and three goals in the second on their way to a 6-2 win over Concordia University (Wis.) on Tuesday night. Gustav Bengtson notched two goals, while Adam Smyth added one goal and a pair of assists in the victory. The Gusties improve to 6-2-1 overall, as Concordia falls to 1-10-0.

Gustavus Adolphus men’s swimmer Billy Schultze has been named MIAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week for his efforts at the SJU Triangular held on Saturday in Collegeville, Minn.

Ben Ceder, Lucas Thompson Named to All-Conference Soccer Team

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced the 2011 Men's Soccer All-Conference Team and Gustavus players Ben Ceder and Lucas Thompson were named to the 20-member honor squad selected by the league coaches. Ceder , a junior midfielder and Thompson a sophomore defender were key contributors to a Gustie squad that finished with a record of 10-5-3 overall and 5-2-3 in league play.

Women’s Tennis Has Strong Showing In ITA Pre-Season Polls

he Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the Division III Central Region pre-season rankings in early November. The ITA named five individual Gustavus tennis players to the top-20 and two doubles teams in the top-10. Gustavus ranks seventh in the ITA Pre-Season National Team Poll.

Men’s Swimming & Diving Takes First Place At SJU Triangular

The Gustavus men’s swimming and diving team took first place at the SJU Triangular with 1252 points on Saturday in Collegeville, Minn. Saint John’s placed runner-up with 1042 points, while Luther College finished third with 566 points. The Gusties totaled 26 top-three finishes and 11 event wins at the meet.

Women’s Swimming & Diving Wins CSB Triangular

The Gustavus Adolphus women’s swimming and diving team compiled 1431.5 points to take first place at the CSB Triangular on Saturday in Collegeville, Minn. The Gusties registered 26 top-three finishes and eight event wins at the meet. The College of Saint Benedict came in second with 993 points and Luther College finished third with 721.5 points.

Men’s Basketball Loses To UW-Superior on Late 3-Point Basket

The Gustavus men's basketball saw its valiant comeback fall short when Ben Aalfs hit a three-point shot with :02 remaining to give UW-Superior a 71-68 win over the Gusties in Superior, Wis. Gustavus, which trailed by 14 points at halftime, stormed back behind the play of Seth Anderson who scored 14 second half points. The Gusties, who fall to 1-1 on the season, will next play at Bethany on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 7 pm.
