Katie Schenfeld and Taylor Drenttel Set To Play in NGCA Women’s Collegiate Team Championship In Atlanta

Gustavus golfers Kate Schenfeld and Taylor Drenttel will take part in the 1st Annual Hooters Women’s Collegiate Team Championship, will begin Tuesday, August 3 in Atlanta, Georgia. The tournament will consist of fifty-five (55) two-person teams including many of the top players in women’s collegiate golf. Each team will pair players from the same university in a 54-hole stroke play event.

Women’s Golf Ranks Third Nationally In All-Scholar Team Grade Point Average

The National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) announced the 2009-10 All-Scholar Team GPA Award rankings Monday, July 19. The Gustavus Adolphus Women’s Golf Team placed third with a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.714. This marks the second straight year the Gusties have ranked in the top 25 and the first time the Gusties have placed in the top five in team GPA.

Women’s Basketball Earns WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll

The Gustavus women's basketball team was named to the Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Tuesday, July 20. The Gusties ranked 11th out of 424 NCAA Division III women's basketball teams with a 3.494 team grade point average (GPA).

Former Bemidji State Head Coach Ruthann Kragh Named Assistant Women’s Hockey Coach

Ruthann Kragh, a native of Cheboygan, Mich. and 1996 graduate of Western Michigan University, joins the Gustavus Adolphus Athletics Department as the new assistant women’s hockey coach. She replaces Andrea Peterson who resigned to pursue a teaching career in the Twin Cities.

Gustavus Men’s Basketball Hosts Annual Golf Tournament

The Gustavus men’s basketball program hosted its 23rd annual fundraiser golf tournament Thursday June, 24 at the Shoreland Country Club in St. Peter, Minn. A field of 78 golfers competed in the best ball 18-hole round of golf to assist in raising funds for the men’s basketball program, but the underlying theme of the afternoon was fellowship and fun.
