Women’s Track & Field Competes At MSU-Mankato Open

The Gustavus women's track and field team competed in the MSU-Mankato Open on Friday and Saturday in the Meyers Field Field House in Mankato, Minn. Kaelene Lundstrum was the top Gustavus performer in the meet. Lundstrum won the heptathlon with 3468 points, setting a new Gustavus record.

Men’s Track & Field Competes At MSU-Mankato Open

The Gustavus men's track and field team competed in the two-day MSU-Mankato Open on Friday and Saturday in Meyer's Field House on the campus of MSU-Mankato. Gustavus tallied three to five finishes as no teams scores were recorded at the meet.

Women’s Hockey Sees 7-Game Win Streak Come To End With 2-1 Loss To St. Catherine

St. Kate's sophomore forward Cassie Rooney scored an unassisted goal at 7:12 of the third period breaking a 1-1 tie and allowing the Wildcats to defeat Gustavus 2-1 on Friday night at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter. The Gusties lone goal was scored by Lindsey Hjelm at 16:31 of the second period with an assist to Gracie Olson.

Women’s Basketball Defeats St. Kate’s 83-71, All Alone Atop MIAC Standings

The Gustavus women's basketball team jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never looked back on its way to a convincing 83-71 win over St. Catherine at Gus Young Court in St. Peter on Saturday afternoon. Molly Mathiowetz led a balanced Gustavus scoring attack with 13 points. The Gusties improve to 15-3 overall and 13-2 in the MIAC.

Gymnastics Falls To UW-Stout 173.725-169.750

The Gustavus gymnastics team dropped it's opening road meet to WIAC opponent UW-Stout 173.725-169.750 on Friday night in Menomonie, Wisc. UW-Stout’s Meghan Hargens and Naomi DeLara were the top performers in the meet as they each won two events. Kelly Mathewson was the top Gustavus performer, taking second in the all-around (34.625).

Strong First Half Propels Women’s Basketball Past Saint Mary’s 68-49

The Gustavus women's basketball team remained in first place in the MIAC with a convincing 68-49 win over Saint Mary's on Wednesday night in St. Peter, Minn. The Gusties jumped out to a quick 12-5 lead and never looked back on their way to the 19-point victory. Gustie senior captain Bri Radtke led all scorers with 15 points.

Men’s Basketball Stumbles On The Road With 78-75 Loss To Saint Mary’s

The Gustavus men's basketball team suffered a 78-75 setback to Saint Mary's on the road in Winona, Minn. on Wednesday night. Saint Mary’s Will Wright scored a game-high 18 points on 5-8 shooting, while teammate Michael Burfeind scored 17, shooting 8-10 from the field. Gustavus’s Ryan McPartland led team with 14 points (6-15) and eight rebounds.

Women’s Hockey Claims Seventh Straight With 2-1 Victory Over UW-Superior

The #8 Gustavus women's hockey team escaped with a 2-1 victory over #9 UW-Superior Tuesday night at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter, Minn. Gustavus led 1-0 until the 11:55 mark in the third period as UW-Superior scored on a power play goal by Ashlee Olson. Gustavus answered 20 seconds later on a goal by Meagan Wanecke and held on for the remainder of the game to secure the 2-1 victory.

David Martinson Named MIAC Men’s Hockey Player Of The Week

Gustavus senior forward David Martinson (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park) was named MIAC Men’s Hockey Player of the Week for his efforts against Saint John’s this past weekend. Martinson registered a total of four goals and one assist, as the Gusties gained three points from the Johnnies with a 3-3 tie Friday night and a 6-4 win Sunday morning.

Women’s Nordic Skiing Competes at Central Super Tour Races

The Gustavus women’s nordic ski team compiled 60 points to take seventh place among competing Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) colleges at the Central Super Tour races held at Theodore Wirth Park Friday and Saturday in Minneapolis, Minn. Erica Hett was the top Gustavus skier, finishing 27th (14:50.1) among college skiers in Saturday’s 5km freestyle race and 15th (32:36.2) on Sunday in the 10km classic.
