The Gustavus women’s hockey team claimed a 3-1 win over St. Olaf in Northfield, Minn. on Saturday night.  The Gusties got goals from Lindsey Hjelm and Whitney Schaff to take a 2-0 lead and then Allie Schwab closed out the scoring with an open net goal in the final seconds.  Emily Klatt picked up the win in the nets.

Gustavus took a 1-0 lead when Lindsey Hjelm scored a power play goal at 18:03 of the second period.  The Gusties led 1-0 through two periods.

Whitney Schaff increased the Gustavus lead to 2-0 when she scored another power play goal at 5:28 of the third period.  The Oles cut the lead to 2-1 when Kristen Latta scored at the 10:28 mark.

Allie Schwab closed out the scoring when she scored an open net goal with 06 seconds remaining in the game.

Emily Klatt recorded 13 saves and picked up the win in the nets for the Gusties.

Gustavus improves o 3-3-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the MIAC.
