The Gustavus women’s swimming and diving team fell to St. Cloud State University Saturday afternoon in the St. Peter by the score of 90-210. Gustavus recorded two first place finishes both of which were won by Carrie Gundersen. Gundersen won the 200 freestyle with a time of 11:16.61 and 500 freestyle with a time of 5:30.06.
In addition to Gundersen’s two victories, the Gusties tallied a total of 10 second and third place finishes on the day. Marnie Luke and Carly Mosher both finished second in two events. Luke in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:16.61) and 200-yard individual medley (2:20.80), and Mosher in the 100 (1:02.41) and 200 backstroke (2:12.58). Anika Erickson finished second in the 200 breaststroke (2:36.59) and third in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.67).
Other top finishers included Stephanie Korba finishing third in 100 and 200 butterfly, and Maggie Hansvick finishing third in the 200 breaststroke. The Gustavus 400 freestyle relay team of Gunderson, Dajana Vidovic, Mary Jo Behr, and Serena Elthon finished in third place.
