The Gustavus women’s golf team rallied to shoot a tournament record 321 on Saturday, but still finished second to UW-Stevens Point at the Carleton Invitational played at Northfield Golf Club. The Gusties posted a 36-hole total of 333-321–654, while the Pointers earned the title with a total of 326-322–648. Gustavus placed four individuals in the top ten including Katie Schenfeld (6th), Kali Griggs (7th), Amanda Woodhull (8th), and Kimbra Kosak (9th).
After a rough first round total of 333, the Gusties battled back to shoot a Carleton Invitational single round team score record of 321 in the second round. Kali Griggs led Gustavus on Saturday with a 78, followed by Katie Schenfeld (80), Kimbra Kosak (81), and Taylor Drenttel (82).
Schenfeld posted the top 36-hole total for the Gusties as she finished sixth at 83-80–163. Griggs was one stroke back in seventh at 86-78–164, Woodhull was one stroke back of Griggs in eighth at 79-86–165, and Kosak tied for ninth at 85-81–166. Taylor Drenttel, the fifth Gustavus golfer, placed 20th at 91-82–173.
