Senior Tyler Geyen finished fourth in the 55-meter hurdles at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana on Saturday. Geyen crossed the finish line with a time of 7.55 seconds. The Gusties finished the meet tied for 40th place with 5 points from Geyen’s performance.

Gustavus nordic skier Kelly Chaudoin finished 33rd in the 5K Classic race at the NCAA Ski Championships held at Black Mountain in Rumford, Maine on Thursday. Chaudoin posted a time of 15:29.7 over a an icy track that resulted from rainy conditions on Wednesday and cold temperatures on Thursday morning.

Gustavus Adolphus junior Kaelene Lundstrum (Bird Island, Minn.) has been named the Outstanding Women’s Field Athlete at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships after winning titles in the pentathlon and the high jump. Gustavus Adolphus College senior goaltender Matt Lopes (East Falmouth, Mass./Bishop Stang) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending March 15, 2009.
