The Gustavus baseball will kick off its Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) baseball schedule on Saturday against Concordia College at 1:30 p.m. at the Metrodome as part of the MIAC Baseball Showcase. The MIAC Baseball Showcase will be Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28, as five conference doubleheaders will be played at the Metrodome in Minneapolis.
The 2009 MIAC Baseball Showcase will open conference play on Friday, March 27 as Augsburg takes on Saint Mary’s at 4 p.m. in the Metrodome. Saint John’s and Macalester will follow with a scheduled start time of 9:30 p.m.
Carleton and Hamline will begin play on Saturday, March 28 with a doubleheader at 8 a.m., followed by Gustavus and Concordia at 1:30 p.m. and St. Thomas and Bethel at 7 p.m.
Each match-up will feature two seven-inning doubleheaders. St. Olaf is the lone MIAC team not playing in the Showcase, due to an odd number of teams in the conference.
Daily admission will be $5 for adults and $3 for students. Free parking is available at the Metrodome East Parking Lot, but space is limited. Fans should enter the stadium through Gate F. Concessions will be available on Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
