The Gustavus women’s swimming and diving team finished first out of four teams at the Saint John’s Winter Invitational held in Collegeville on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties took top honors with 1,108 points, followed by Saint Ben’s with 703, St. Thomas with 584, and Augsburg with 42. The Gusties won five individual events including two by Carrie Gundersen (200 free and 500 free).

Gundersen posted a time of 2:02.91 in winning the 200 free and a time of 5:23.70 in winning the 500 free.

Other individual winners for Gustavus included Maria Freund in one meter diving (209.85), Dajana Vidovic in the 50 free (25.44), and Marnie Luke in the 200 butterfly (2:22.69).

The Gusties will return to action on January 23-24 at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational.
