The Gustavus women’s swimming team finished second out of four teams at the St. Kate’s Invitational on Friday night in St. Paul. Carleton finished first with 809 points, while the Gusties totalled 555. sprinter Jonna Berry and diver Alicia Alvarado both recorded a second and a third place finish to lead the team at the meet.
The Gusties, who did not register a first or second place finish at the meet, recorded five third place finishes and three fourth place finshes. Jonna Berry led the way in the sprints as she posted a third place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (26.26) and a fourth place finish in the 100-yard free (58.16). Alvarado led the divers with a third place finish on the one-meter board (165.90) and a fourth place finish on the three-meter board (152.45).
Other top finishes for the Gusties included Emma Nelson placing third in the 1000 free (12:03.68) and fourth in the 500 free (5:52.52), Mary Jo Behr finishing third in the 200 individual medley (2:25.38), and Darcy Roller placing third on the three-meter board (165.65).
