Gustavus Adolphus football wide receiver Chad Arlt (Sr., St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) has been named to the Pre-Season All-America Team as released by Consensus Draft Services (CDS). Arlt, a second-team selection, was one of three MIAC athletes chosen for the 54-member first and second teams.
Arlt set several game, season, and career records during the 2007 campaign. He broke the single-season marks in catches with 100 receptions and in receiving yards with 1,294. As a first-team All-MIAC selection last season, he posted over 100 yards receiving in seven games. Arlt also set the single-game receiving record at 252 yards against Augsburg.
Heading into the 2008 season, Arlt has 2,206 career receiving yards and needs 27 yards to surpass Ryan Hoag as the all-time receiving leader at Gustavus. Arlt currently holds the career receptions record at 161 catches.
Arlt and the Gusties will kick off the 2008 season against Coe College on September 13 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
