Women’s Track and Field Performer Kaelene Lundstrom Named MIAC’s Field Athlete of the Week

Gustavus track and field athlete Kaelene Lundstrum (Bird Island, Minn.) has been named the MIAC’s Indoor Track and Field, Field Athlete of the Week for her efforts at the Carleton Pre-MIAC meet last Friday. Lundstrum won the high jump with a school record jump of 5′ 6”. The jump is the fourth highest in Division III this year. Lundstrum also placed second in the 55-meter hurdles, third in the 400 meter run, and ran a leg on the winning 4 x 400 relay team.

Lundstrum, who also broke the school record for the heptahlon earlier this season, will lead the Gustavus women’s track and field team in the MIAC Championships this weekend, which is being held at Saint John’s University. She enters the meet ranked first in the MIAC in the heptathlon (3,203 points), first in the high jump (5-6), and sixth in the 55-meter hurdles (8.95).
