Jennifer Thelemann (Jr., Le Sueur, Minn.) was named the MIAC’s Hitter of the Week by the league volleyball coaches on Monday. Thelemann helped lead the Gusties to an impressive win over conference opponent Bethel last week. During the four-game match, she tallied 21 kills with only four errors in 42 attempts for a hitting percentage of .405 and 5.25 kills per game. The junior from Le Sueur, Minn., ranks second on the team in kills with 228, second in blocks with 50 and third in service aces with 15.

Thelemann has compiled 228 kills in 60 games this season after posting 242 kills in 90 games all of last season. She is averaging 3.80 kills per game, which currently ranks eighth in the MIAC.

Gustavus, which is currently tied for first place in the MIAC with Concordia with a 5-0 record, is 13-3 overall. Coach Kari Eckheart’s squad has won seven straight matches heading into a key conference matchup with St. Olaf on Wednesday night.
