Women’s Basketball Collapses in Second Half, Falls to Carleton 57-53
The Gustavus women's basketball team took a 14-point lead into the halftime break, but let it all slip away in the second half, falling to Carleton 57-53 Wednesday night in Northfield. Sophomore guard Jess Vadnais, who finished with a game-high 19 points, was held without a field-goal attempt in the second half. The loss drops the Gusties to 13-5 overall, 11-5 in the MIAC.
Men’s Basketball Loses to Carleton 65-59
The Gustavus men's basketball team battled Carleton to the wire but came up short in a 65-59 loss to the Knights, who extended their MIAC win streak to 12 games. The Gusties cut the lead to two at 59-57 with :26 left on the clock, but Carleton made six consecutive free throws in the final :20 seconds to hold on for the win. Trevor Wittwer led Gustavus with 15 points.
