Women’s Golf Completes First Round at State Championships

The Gustavus women’s golf team recorded a first-round score of 343 at the Minnesota Women’s Collegiate Golf Association Championships on Saturday. Kelli Groff leads the Gusties with an 18-hole score of 81. The tournament is taking place at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker, Minn.

The Gustavus women’s golf team traveled to Becker, Minn. to compete in the Minnesota Women’s Collegiate Golf Association State Championships on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24. The tournament is taking place at the Pebble Creek Golf Club.

The Gusties finished up their first-round of golf around 6:30 p.m. with many of the other teams still on the course. Gustavus compiled a score of 343 after the first 18-holes. Junior Kelli Groff (Bloomington, Minn.) leads the Gusties with a score of 81, while senior Stephanie Polzin (Mankato, Minn.) is second on the team with a score of 82.

Gustavus will return to action tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. with a shot-gun start.
