The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s and women’s cross country teams were recognized as All-Academic Teams by the NCAA Division III Cross Country Coaches Association. The men compiled a team grade point average of 3.44, which was the seventh highest in Division III as well as the top team grade point average in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC).

The women compiled a team grade point average of 3.52 this past fall, which ranked them 29th in Division III and second in the MIAC.

Gustavus senior Nichole Petersen (Arco, Minn.) was recognized individually by the NCAA Division III Cross Country Coaches Association. Petersen was named to the Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team by compiling a perfect 4.0 in the fall of 2004. To qualify for individual All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have a grade point average greater than a 3.5 and place in the top quarter of their regional meet. Petersen, a four-time all-conference honoree, placed eighth out of 154 competitors at the regional meet to qualify for the All-Academic award.
