Men’s Swimming & Diving Advances Two to Friday’s Finals

The Gustavus men’s swimming and diving team have advanced the 200 medley relay team and Will Sutor in the 100 butterly to Friday’s finals at the NCAA Division III Championships.

The Gustavus men’s swimming and diving team have advanced the 200 medley relay team and Will Sutor in the 100 butterly to Friday’s finals at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships. The championships are being hosted by Hope College in Holland, Michigan.

The 200 medley relay team advanced to Friday’s final with a time of 1:33.07. The team of Scott Hagemeyer, Brad Hammer, Will Sutor and Brian Amundson are seeded third heading into the relay final. The same team earned All-America honors in Thursday night’s finals. The team placed seventh in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:27.03.

Will Sutor advanced to Friday’s final in the 100 butterfly. Sutor broke his own record of 49.79 with a time of 49.35 in Friday’s prelims. The senior is seeded number two overall heading into Friday’s final.

Gustavus is currently in sixth place with 69 points after one day of competition at the national championships. Friday’s finals will begin at 6:30 p.m. (ET).
