The Gustavus women’s 200 free relay team just missed capturing the program’s first ever national title this evening at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships which are being held at Hope College in Holland, Michigan.
The team of Beth DeLaRosby, Katie Garvey, Laurie Decknatel, and Laura Watkins finished second, just four-hundredths of a second behind first place Carleton. The Gusties posted a time of 1:35.63, while Carleton won the title with a time of 1:35.59.
The second place finish is the best ever posted by a Gustavus relay team at the NCAA Championships.
