The Gustavus women’s gymnastics team improved its dual meet record to 2-1 on the season by defeating Hamline University 177.075 to 174.00 at Gustavus on Friday night. Senior Amanda Parker led Gustavus with first place finishes on the uneven bars (9.20) and the floor exercise (9.125) and a third place finish on the balance beam.
The Gusties scored 45.525 on the vault (a season high), 41.725 on the uneven bars, 44.725 on the balance beam, and 45.10 on the floor exercise. Hamline scored 43.475 on the vault, 43.15 on the uneven bars, 44.225 on the balance beam and 43.150 on the floor exercise.
Joining Amanda Parker as event winners for the Gusties were Brittany Moore (9.375) on the vault and Nicole Gergen (9.25) on the balance beam. Kristin Driscoll of Hamline tied Parker for first place on the floor exercise with a 9.125.
Other top finishes for Gustavus included Ashley Erickson finishing second on the vault (9.225) and the uneven bars (8.850) and third on the floor exercise (9.100), Kyleen Oleson finishing fourth on the floor exercise (9.075), Danielle Berg placing third on the vault (9.075) and Danielle Abel finishing fourth on the vault (8.950).
The Gusties next meet is Saturday, February 26 at 1:00 pm at the University of Wisconsin — Oshkosh.
