Women’s Gymnastics Team Places Third at Best of Minnesota Invitational

The Gustavus gymnastics team posted a season best score of 178.00 and finished third out of three teams at the Best of Minnesota Invitational in Minneapolis. Stephanie Lovik registered the team’s best individual score with a 9.60 on the floor exercise.

The Gustavus gymnastics team posted a season best score of 178.00 and finished third out of three teams at the Best of Minnesota Invitational in Minneapolis. The University of Minnesota finished first with a score of 194.425 and Hamline finished second with a score of 182.475. Shannon Bank registered the team’s best individual score with a 9.475 on the floor exercise.

Coach Kris Glidden’s squad continued to show improvement with individual event scores of 44.80 on the vault, 42.05 on the uneven bars, 43.80 on the balance beam, and a season best 47.35 on the floor exercise.

Top individual finishers for Gustavus included Danielle Berg placing 11th on the vault (9.10), Amanda Parker finishing ninth on the uneven bars (8.80) and fourth on the balance beam (9.425), Stephanie Lovik finishing eighth on the floor exercise (9.60).

The Gusties performed particularly well on the floor exercise with Lovik posting a score of 9.60, Kyleen Oleson placing 11th with a 9.50, Shannon Bank 12th with a 9.475, and Ashley Erickson 13th with a 9.40.

Gustavus will host its final home meet of the 2005 season this Friday night against Hamline University at 7:00 pm.
