The Gustavus women’s swimming and diving team traveled to Moorhead, Minn. on Saturday, November 6 to compete in its first dual meet of the season. Gustavus, 2003-04 MIAC Champions, defeated Concordia College 154-127 winning 13 events and setting seven pool records.
Beth DeLaRosby set two records individually and was a member of two relay teams that set pool records. DeLaRosby won the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle with times of 24.63 and 55.69, respectively. The 200 freestyle relay team of Eva Miller, Kari Reed, Laura Watkins and Beth DeLaRosby set a pool record with a time of 1:41.89. The 200 medley relay team of Laurie Decknatel, Eva Miller, Yoshi Ludwig and Beth DeLaRosby set a pool record with a time of 1:53.65.
The other pool records were set by Katie Garvey in the 100 butterfly (1:03.49), Saru Pfau in the 100 backstroke (1:03.55) and Katie Haynes in the 200 backstroke (2:18.50).
Six other Gusties claimed first place finishes on Saturday. Larkin Davis won the 1000 freestyle (11:32.62), Katie Garvey won the 200 freestyle (2:03.38), Natasha Eid won the 100 breaststroke (1:15.83), Yoshi Ludwig won the 200 butterfly (2:24.26), Eva Miller won the 200 breaststroke (2:32.65) and Sara Pfau GAC won the 200 individual medley (2:20.59).
Gustavus will travel to Northfield, Minn. to face St. Olaf in a dual meet on Friday, November 12. The Gusties will then host Minnesota State University – Mankato on Saturday, November 13.
