Women’s Soccer Ends Season with 3-1 Loss at UW-Stevens Point

The Gustavus women’s soccer team ended its 2004 season with a 3-1 loss on the road to UW-Stevens Point. Samantha Engh scored the Gustavus goal.

The Gustavus women’s soccer team ended its 2004 season with a 3-1 loss on the road to UW-Stevens Point. Samantha Engh gave the Gusties a 1-0 lead with a goal just two minutes into the contest with an assist from Amy Larson. Unfortunately, the Pointers would rally to score three second half goals and claim the non-conference victory. The UW-Stevens Point goals were tallied at 53:10, 65:56 and 68:58.

Gustavus goaltender Tori Boughton suffered the loss in the nets for Gustavus. She allowed three goals while making six saves. UW-Stevens Point recorded 18 shots in the contest compared to 11 for Gustavus. Both teams took three corner kicks.

The Gusties complete their season with a record of 5-10-2 overall and 4-7-0 in the MIAC. Two Gustavus seniors, Kelly Keith and Alysen Farran, played their final collegiate match against the Pointers.
