Gustavus Football Program Announces 2004 Schedule

The Gustavus football program has announced its schedule for the 2004 season.

The Gustavus football program has announced its schedule for the 2004 season. Highlights of the upcoming year include the season opener at Wheaton College, the home opener versus Hamline University and the homecoming game against Concordia College.

Gustavus opens the season by traveling to Wheaton, Illinois to face Wheaton College on Saturday, September 11th. The Thunder advanced to the third round of the NCAA Playoffs in 2003 and won the Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin for the second consecutive season with a perfect record of 7-0. The Gusties will host University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Saturday, October 23rd in their only other non-conference game.

The Gusties begin the conference season by hosting Hamline University of Saturday, September 18th. Gustavus will face defending MIAC champion and 2003 NCAA Division III champion St. John’s University on Saturday, September 25th in Collegeville, Minnesota. The 2003 homecoming game will be against Concordia College on Saturday, October 2nd. Coach Jay Schoenebeck’s squad wraps up the regular season with a trip to Arden Hills, Minnesota to play Bethel College.
