ST. PETER, Minn. (March 22, 2004) — Gustavus Adolphus senior Tim Brown has been named to the D3Hoops.com All-America basketball team. Brown, who received honorable mention All-America honors last season, was named to the fourth team this year.
Tim Brown, the Gusties leading scorer and top outside shooter, played a major role in the teams success this year. The senior tri-captain led the Gusties in scoring at 14.9 points a game and shot an amazing 51.4% from behind the three-point line. He finished his Gustavus career at 48.4% from the arc. A two-year starter for the Gusties after transferring from Mankato State, Brown finished his collegiate career with 1,059 points.
A 2004 First Team All-Conference selection, Brown led the MIAC in three-point field goal shooting at 56.4%, finished eighth in scoring at 15.3, and fifth in field goal percentage at 57.9%.
Gustavus finished 22-6 overall and 18-2 in the conference in 2004. The Gusties won the regular season championship and also claimed the conference tournament title for the second consecutive year. Gustavus had finished second in the regular season each of the last three seasons. The team reached the national tournament both seasons Brown played. Brown’s career record at Gustavus stands at 48-13.
