Women’s Swimming Team Finishes 13th at NCAA Championships

The Gustavus women’s swimming team scored a school record 82 points and finished 13th for the program’s best ever performance at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships which was held near St. Louis, Missouri.

The Gustavus women’s swimiming team wrapped up a very successful three days at the Division III Swimming and Diving Championships with a 12th place finish by the 400 yard freestyle relay team.

The team, which consisted of Beth DeLaRosby, Katie Garvey, Jessica Coleman and Laura Watkins recorded a time of 3:34.13.

Coach Jon Carlson’s team scored a school record 82 points and finished 13th overall for the program’s best ever performance at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships which were held near St. Louis, Missouri.

Junior Beth DeLaRosby finished third in the 50 yard freestyle to earn All-America honors and the 200 yard free relay consisting of Beth DeLaRosby, Katie Garvey, Jessica Coleman and Laura Watkins finished fifth and also earned All-America honors.

The Gusties, who qualified a program best eight swimmers for the national meet, completed the most successful season in the program’s history.
