The Gustavus women’s gymnastics team ended its regular season with a home victory against UW-Oshkosh Friday night at Sponberg Gymnastics Studio in Saint Peter, Minn. The Gusties out-scored the Titans 182.425 – 173.025 and improved their dual meet record to 6-1 this season.
Coach Kris Glidden’s squad posted a score of 45.525 on the vault, 44.450 on the uneven bars, 45.750 on the balance beam, and 46.700 in the floor exercise.
Junior Amanda Parker won the all-around for the eighth time this season with a total of 37.400. Parker also won the uneven bars with score of 9.300 and tied for first on the balance beam with a score of 9.400. She placed second in the floor exercise (9.450) and second on the vault (9.250). Sophomore Alyssa Cox won the vault with a score of 9.375. First-year Nicole Gergen won the floor exercise with a score 9.500.
Sophomore Ashley Erickson placed second on the uneven bars (9.200) and third on the vault (9.175). Junior Therese Gay finished third in the floor exercise (9.350), junior Katie Balcom placed third on the balance beam (9.350), and senior Molly McIntyre placed third on the uneven bars (9.000).
Gustavus will compete in the NCGA West Regional next Friday in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The top four teams in the regional will advance to the national championships April 2-3 in Boston, Massachusetts.
