Ingrid Olson Named Women’s MIAC Nordic Skier of the Year

Ingrid Olson (Senior, White Bear Lake, Minn.) was named the Women’s MIAC Nordic Skier of the Year on Wednesday, March 10. The skier of the year is determined by adding up the points from five CCSA races and the conference championships.

Gustavus Adolphus Nordic Skier Ingrid Olson (Senior, White Bear Lake, Minn.) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Skier of the Year for 2004. The total points earned at the five Central Collegiate Ski Association races and the conference championships are added together to determine the skier of the year. Olson tallied 87 points in five CCSA races and the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships.

Olson finished in fourth place in the freestyle race and fifth place in the classical race at the 2004 MIAC Championships held at Graystone Trails in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. Gustavus won its third consecutive MIAC team title totaling 57 points at the championships. Olson earned all-conference honors in the freestyle race placing in the top four.

Olson finished in 18th place in the classical race at the NCAA Central Regional Championships, which were held at Michigan Tech University in Houghton, Michigan. The women finished in fourth place overall in the regional championships with a total of 112 points.
