The Gustavus women’s gymnastics team made its first home meet of the season a successful one as the Gusties defeated UW-Eau Claire 182.875 – 177.175. The Gusties total of 182.875 is the second highest team score in the program’s history.
Coach Kris Glidden’s squad posted individual event scores of 45.50 on the vault, 44.825 on the uneven bars, 46.075 on the balance beam and 46.475 on the floor exercise.
Individually, Amanda Parker won the all-around with a score of 37.025. Parker has now finished first in the all-around in five the six meets the team has competed in this season. The only time she has not won the all-around was against Division I Minnesota. Parker scored 9.0 on the vault (4th), 9.25 on the uneven bars (3rd), 9.325 on the balance beam (2nd), 9.45 on the floor exercise (1st).
Other top individual finishes for the Gusties included Ashley Erickson finishing in a tie for first on the uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.30 and third on the vault at 9.275, Alyssa Cox finishing second on vault with a total of 9.375, Molly McIntyre placing second on the balance beam (9.325) and Nicole Gergen placing second on the floor exercise (9.375).
UW-Eau Claire was led by the duo of Alison Eagles and Lynn Morris. Eagles was second in the all-around (36.975) while Morris was third (36.35). Morris also finished first on the balance beam (9.40) and tied for first on the uneven parallel bars (9.30), while Eagles finished first on the vault (9.525).
