The Gustavus women’s hockey team completed a weekend sweep of Hamline with a 5-0 win at the State Fairgrounds Coliseum in Saint Paul. Ingrid Neve and Katie Deschneau each scored one goal and dished off two assists to lead the Gustie attack. Gustavus improves to 7-3-0 overall and 4-2-0 in the MIAC, while Hamline falls to 0-9-0 overall and 0-6-0 in the MIAC.
Five different players scored for Gustavus including Kathleen Simonet, Andrea Peterson, Annie Katz, Katie Deschneau and Ingrid Neve. The Gusties led 1-0 after one period and 2-0 after two periods before scoring three goals in the third period to claim the 5-0 win. Gustavus outshot the Pipers 66-8.
Kristen Setterstrom recorded eight saves in picking up the win in the nets for Gustavus.
