Baseball Opens MIAC Schedule With Sweep Over Saint Mary’sThe Gustavus baseball team kicked off its MIAC schedule with a pair of wins against Saint Mary's by the scores of 6-0 and 6-5 in eight innings in Winona on Thursday. Cody Sukalski pitched a complete game shutout in the first game, while Derek Eddie earned the win in the second game after pitching 4.2 innings in relief. Tory Herman and Chad Eul combined to go 8-for-15 from the plate with five RBI. The Gusties improved to 9-9 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
Men’s Tennis Defeats UW-Whitewater, University of Sioux Falls, Saint John’s, and Saint Mary’s 9-0The No. 8 Gustavus men's tennis team had a busy day after playing four matches at the Swanson Tennis Center on Saturday in St. Peter. The Gusties defeated UW-Whitewater, University of Sioux Falls, Saint John's and Saint Mary's by identical 9-0 scores to improve to 16-4 overall and remain perfect in conference play at 6-0. Gustavus returns to action on Monday, March 23 against Pomona-Pitzer in Claremont, Calif. as the Gusties will play four matches in California in four days.
Men’s Basketball Sinks Key Free Throws To Defeat Saint Mary’s 66-59As the Gustavus men's basketball team clung to a three-point lead with less than a minute to play, the Gusties went 6-for-6 from the free throw line to hang on for a 66-59 win over Saint Mary's on Wednesday at Gus Young Court. Gustavus shot 53.5 percent from the field on 23-for-43 shooting and held the Cardinals to 31.7 percent (20-for-63), including 2-for-19 from three-point range.
The Gustavus women's basketball team out-scored Saint Mary's 18-2 to start the second half and never looked back on its way to a convincing 65-48 win over the Cardinals in Winona on Wednesday night. The Gusties shot 56.0 percent from the field (14-25) and 50.0 percent from three-point range (4-8) in the second half. Three Gustavus players scored in double figures including Emily Nelson with 13, Julia Schultz with 12, and Brianna Radtke with 11. The Gusties are now 11-6 overall and 9-5 in the MIAC.
The depth of the Gustavus men's basketball team proved to be too much for Saint Mary's as the Gustie bench outscored their counterparts 29-12 in a 81-62 victory on Monday night in Winona. Head Coach Mark Hanson's squad continued to shoot well from the field as Gustavus shot 54.8 percent on 34-of-62 shooting. Eleven different Gusties scored with Sam Paulson and Jesse Van Sickle leading the way with 19 and 18 points, respectively.
Men’s Hockey Records 750th Win In Program History With 3-0 Win Versus Saint Mary’sThe 14th-ranked Gustavus men's hockey team improved to 5-1-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the MIAC after a 3-0 decision over Saint Mary's at All Seasons Arena on Sunday night. Jared Ackmann, David Martinson, and Rory Dynan scored for the Gusties, while Matt Lopes posted the second consecutive shutout for the squad. The victory was the 750th in the history of the men's hockey program. The Gusties have compiled a 750-569-52 record for a .569 winning percentage in 67 seasons.
Women’s Hockey Defeats Saint Mary’s 3-0 As Mike Carroll Picks Up 200th Career WinThe Gustavus women's hockey team broke open a tight game with two third period goals on its way to a 3-0 win over Saint Mary's on Saturday afternoon. Lynn Hillen, Christine Wicker, and Alyssa Gaulrapp scored for the Gusties and goaltender Emily Klatt recorded 12 saves on her way to her recording her second consecutive shutout. The win was the 200th career victory for head coach Mike Carroll.

The Gusties were led by Melissa Mackley and Kirstin Peterson as both scored a goal and registered two assists . Mari Gunderson and Allie Schwab also scored for the Gusties, while Danielle Justice picked up the win in the nets.
The Gustavus volleyball team claimed the #2-seed in the MIAC Post-Season Tournament by defeating Saint Mary's 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-17) on Saturday in Winona. Coach Kari Eckheart's team registered 44 kills and just 12 errors for a .258 hitting percentage and tallied 10 team blocks. Gustavus improved to 25-3 overall and 9-2 in the MIAC, as it finished tied for second place in the conference standings for the second time in three seasons. Saint Mary's dropped to 17-12 overall and 5-6 in the conference.
