PRIOR LAKE, Minn. – After one round at the St. Kate’s Invite, the Gustavus women’s golf team sits in a tie for fourth place after posting a 332. Bethel leads the field after carding a 313.

Emily Kratz (So., Edina) leads the Gusties after the first round, shooting a six-over 78 and is tied for fifth. Sydney Regalado (So., Rosemount) is tied for 14th with an 82, Laurel Ward (Fy., Bozeman, Mt.) is tied for 31st at 85, and Erin Ericson (So., Onalaska, Wis.) is tied for 38th at 87.

“The course played really tough today,” Head Coach Scott Moe said. “The wind was blowing and the course was a little more difficult than we played in recent weeks. Now that we have seen the course under these conditions, I look forward to our opportunity to play it again tomorrow. Emily had a great day today. Other players put together some good stretches, we just need to be sharper on the big greens, and eliminate our big holes.”

Kristin Miyagi of Carleton and Anna Tollefson of Bethel share the lead at 74.

The St. Kate’s Invite, played at the Wilds Golf Club, concludes Sunday.
