Women’s Hockey Falls To UW-Stevens Point 4-0

Following a three-week long break from game action, the Gustavus Adolphus College women’s hockey team had little time to adjust to being back on the ice as it faced the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Friday evening. For much of the night, the Gusties looked like a team that was trying to get back in its groove and the Pointers took advantage, handing the Gusties a 4-0 loss at Ice Hawks Arena. The loss puts Gustavus at 3-7-3 on the season, while UW-Stevens Point improves to 7-6-2 overall.

Women’s Hockey Travels to UW-Stevens Point For Friday Game

The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s hockey team will compete Friday, Jan. 8 against the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. in a 7 p.m. matchup at the Multi Activity Center. Gustavus enters the game with a 3-6-3 overall record, while UW-Stevens Point comes into the game at 6-6-2 overall record.

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's hockey team certainly made it a game, but ended up falling just short, as it suffered a 2-1 overtime loss to No. 8 University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Friday evening at Don Roberts Ice Rink. The defeat drops the Gusties to 3-6-3 overall, while the Falcons improve to 10-2-0.

Women’s Hockey Comeback Effort Not Enough, Falls To No. 8 UW-River Falls 4-2

Despite two third period goals, the Gustavus Adolphus College women's hockey team was not able to overcome a four-goal second period from UW-River Falls, and fell to the Falcons 4-2 on Wendesday evening at Hunt Arena. The loss drops the Gusties to 3-5-3 overall, while No. 8 UW-River Falls improves to 9-2-0.

Women’s Hockey Begins Series With UW-River Falls Tonight

The Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey team will compete in an unorthadox Wednesday-Friday series against the University of Wisconsin-River Falls this week. Tonight, the Gusties travel to River Falls, Wisconsin to take on the Falcons in a 7 p.m. matchup, and return home Friday for the series finale at Don Roberts Ice Rink at 7 p.m. Gustavus enters the series with a 3-4-3 overall record, while UW-River Falls comes into the series at 8-2-0 and ranked No. 8 in the country.

Women’s Hockey Falls 3-2 To Saint Benedict In Overtime Heartbreaker

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's hockey team suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to the College of Saint Benedict on Saturday afternoon at Don Roberts Ice Rink. Similar to last night's game, the Gusties took a 2-1 lead into the final minutes of the game, but were not able to hold on, as the Blazers earned an extra-attacker goal at the 18:34 mark to tie the game. However, this time around Saint Benedict was able to find the net in overtime as well, as Maddie Rainey snuck one past Gustie goalie Lindsey Hibbard (Sr., Princeton, Minn.) to earn the victory for the visitors. With the loss, Gustavus falls to 3-4-3 overall and 2-2-2 in the MIAC, while Saint Benedict improves to 2-5-1 overall and picks up its first conference win to move its league record to 1-4-1.

Women’s Hockey Ties Saint Benedict 2-2

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's hockey team used two power play goals to skate to a 2-2 tie against the College of Saint Benedict on Friday evening at Dave Torrey Arena. The tie moves Gustavus to 3-3-3 overall and 2-1-2 in the MIAC, while Saint Benedict moves to 1-5-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the conference.

Women’s Hockey Back In Minnesota, Faces College of Saint Benedict This Weekend

After a trip to Vermont in which it competed against the nation’s top two ranked teams, the Gustavus Adolphus College women’s hockey team returns to MIAC play this weekend where it will take on the College of Saint Benedict. On Friday, Gustavus heads to St. Cloud, Minnesota for a 7:30 p.m. contest at Dave Torrey Arena. Saturday, the Gusties and Blazers come to St. Peter and will play the series finale at Don Roberts Ice Rink at 2 p.m.

Women’s Hockey Player Kaitlyn Klein On Road To Recovery After Suffering Broken Neck

Gustavus Adolphus College sophomore women’s hockey player Kaitlyn Klein (Plymouth, Minn.) is on the road to recovery after suffering a broken neck during last Sunday’s game against Plattsburgh State University in Middlebury, Vermont. Klein is back home after having successful surgery at the University of Vermont Medical Center to repair her C7 vertebrae.
