Volleyball Starts UW-Whitewater Tourney with Four-Set Win

The No. 10 Gustavus volleyball team won its eighth consecutive match Friday night at the UW-Whitewater Dig Panici Classic with a four-set victory over UW-Stevens Point. The Gusties won by set scores of 26-24, 23-25, 25-23, and 25-23 to improve to 16-2 overall.

Volleyball Shuts Out St. Olaf

The No. 10 Gustavus volleyball team Thursday night claimed its fifth consecutive straight-set victory, defeating St. Olaf 25-23, 25-20, 25-21 to improve to 15-2 overall and remain undefeated in the MIAC at 6-0. The Gusties played from behind in all three sets, but were able to string together rallies for the shutout victory.

The No. 10 Gustavus volleyball team returns to Gus Young Court tonight as it hosts St. Olaf in a MIAC matchup. First serve is set for 7 p.m. The Gusties enter the match 14-2 overall and 5-0 in the MIAC, while the Oles are 13-4 overall and 3-2 in the league.

Volleyball Celebrates 50th Season with Straight-Set Win over Bethel, Holtan Reaches 4,000 Assists

During its 50th season celebration Saturday, the No. 12 Gustavus volleyball team defeated Bethel in straight sets at Gus Young Court, improving to 12-2 overall and 3-0 in the MIAC. The Gusties won by scores of 25-13, 25-21, and 25-15, handing the Royals their first conference loss of the season (12-3, 2-1 MIAC). Nora Holtan (Sr., Rochester, Minn.) finished with 27 assists and moved into second place in the Gustavus record books with 4,023 career assists.
