The Gustavus volleyball team claimed a key road win Friday night as it defeated Concordia in a five-set thriller by scores of 22-25, 25-14, 25-17, 27-29 and 15-10. With the win, the Gusties extend their record win streak to 22 and improve to 22-2 overall and 8-0 in the MIAC.

The Gustavus volleyball team made history last week, as its three wins pushed their current winning streak to 21 in row, which eclipsed the school record of 20-straight victories. Rookie Nora Holtan (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) continued to play beyond her years, as the first-year setter racked up 104 assists (10.40 per set) with 31 digs and 13 kills to lead the Gusties to the three big wins. For her performance, the MIAC sports information directors honored Holtan with her second-straight MIAC Volleyball Setter/Libero-of-the-Week award.
A 31-year old record stands no longer as the Gustavus volleyball team won its 20th and 21st straight matches Saturday, setting a new program record for consecutive victories. The Gusties defeated both Simpson College and Loras College in straight sets, breaking the previous program record of 20 consecutive wins to start the 1984 season. The Gusties are now 21-2 on the season.

The Gustavus volleyball team defeated Macalester College in four sets Wednesday night to improve to 19-2 overall and 7-0 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Gusties won by set scores of 25-15, 25-6, 22-25 and 25-14 to increase their win streak to 19 matches, which is one behind the program record.
The Gustavus volleyball team is set to host Macalester College at 7 p.m. Wednesday in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup. The contest is designated as Gustavus’ annual ‘Dig Pink’ match to help raise awareness of breast cancer. The Gusties enter with an 18-2 overall record and 6-0 mark in the MIAC, while the Scots are 13-7 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
The Gustavus volleyball team continued its remarkable run, going 4-0 last week to run its winning streak to 18 in a row. First-year setter Nora Holtan (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) has been a key contributor throughout the streak, and starred last week with 162 assists - 11.57 per set - in addition to 17 kills, 33 digs, four aces and five total blocks. The Gustavus volleyball team won its 18th consecutive match Saturday afternoon at Gus Young Court, defeating the University of Wisconsin-Superior in straight sets 25-15, 25-20 and 25-14. The non-conference win improves the Gusties' overall record to 18-2.
