Football’s Second Half Struggles Result in 37-7 Loss to No. 5 Saint John’s

A 58-yard touchdown pass from Jake Breitbach (So., Golden Valley) to Dalton Thelen (Sr., Cold Spring) late in the second quarter put the Gustavus football team within three points of No. 5 Saint John’s, trailing 10-7 at halftime, but 27 unanswered second half points gave the Johnnies a 37-7 win on Saturday at Hollingsworth Field.

Football Hosts Saint John’s Saturday on Hall of Fame Day

The Gustavus football team welcomes Saint John's to Hollingsworth Field on Saturday for a 1 p.m. MIAC Northwoods Division game. The Gusties enter the matchup 5-1 overall, 3-1 in the MIAC, and 1-0 in the division, while the No. 5-ranked Johnnies are 6-0 overall, 4-0 in the league, and 1-0 in the division. 

Abegglen, Konde Earn MIAC Football Player of the Week Honors

Gustavus football players Andrew Abegglen (Jr., Mound) and Rohee Konde (So., Hopkins) have been selected MIAC Football Players of the Week. Abegglen earns his third MIAC Special Teams Player of the Week honor, while Konde is the MIAC Offensive Player of the Week. 

Football Runs to 33-21 Win Over Hamline

The Gustavus football team ran for 403 yards in a 33-21 victory over Hamline on Saturday. Rohee Konde (So., Hopkins) carried the load for the Gusties with 26 rushes for 207 yards and three touchdowns. The Gusties improve to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the MIAC, while the Pipers drop to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in the league. 

Football Back at Hollingsworth Field Saturday Taking On Hamline

The Gustavus football team is set for a MIAC cross-divisional game Saturday afternoon against Hamline. The Gusties enter the game 4-1 overall, 2-1 in the MIAC, and 1-0 in the Northwoods Division, while the Pipers are 3-2 overall, 1-2 in the MIAC, and 0-0 in the Skyline Division.

Abegglen Named MIAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week

Andrew Abegglen (Jr., Mound) accounted for nine points in Gustavus' decisive 72-7 victory at St. Scholastica last Saturday, helping the Gusties set a new program record for the widest margin of victory (65).

Football Cruises to 72-7 Victory at St. Scholastica

The inaugural meeting between the Gustavus and St. Scholastica football programs proved to be a one-sided affair as the Gusties steamrolled to a 72-7 victory, marking the highest margin of victory in program history. In the process, the Gusties set the school record with 730 total yards.

Football Travels to St. Scholastica for First MIAC Divisional Game

The Gustavus football team Saturday committed five turnovers and was limited to one touchdown in a 34-9 loss at 16th-ranked Bethel. Suffering their first loss of the season, the Gusties drop to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the MIAC, while the Royals improve to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the league.

The Gustavus football team hits the road Saturday for a MIAC matchup at Bethel. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. from Arden Hills, Minn. The Gusties enter the game 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC, while the 16th-ranked Royals are 2-1 overall and 0-1 in the league.
