Women’s Basketball Defeats St. Olaf 71-61

The Gustavus women's basketball team rolled to its second straight MIAC victory, defeating St. Olaf 71-61 on Wednesday night. The Gusties improve to 6-1 on the season and 4-1 in conference play.

Five Gusties Earn D3football.com All-Region Recognition

Zach Jakes (Sr., North Mankato) and Ezekiel Sundberg (Sr., Lakewood, Colo.) were selected First Team Defense, Dalton Thelen was named Second Team Offense, Mitchell Borchardt (Sr., Le Sueur) was voted Third Team Offense, and Carson DeKam (Jr., Owatonna) was chosen as Third Team Defense.

Jensen Earns Second MIAC Men’s Diver of the Week Award

Jensen won both the 3-meter and 1-meter dives with totals of 419.60 and 430.50 points, respectively.

McCoy Named MIAC Women’s Hockey Player of the Week

Katie McCoy was perfect in the Gusties' two wins over Saint Mary's, posting a pair of shutouts in the 4-0 and 3-0 wins. McCoy made 16 saves on Friday and followed the performance with nine more the next day, giving her and the team the nation's lead in shutouts at six. For her performance, McCoy was named MIAC Women's Hockey Defensive Player of the Week. 

Men’s Hockey Makes Late Push, Falls 4-3 to Saint Mary’s

The Gustavus men's hockey team scored three goals in the third period Saturday night against Saint Mary's at Don Roberts Ice Rink, but came up short in a 4-3 loss.

Gusties Dominate Macalester in 89-40 Rout

Coming off of their first loss of the season, the Gusties were looking to redeem themselves — and they did not disappoint Saturday afternoon. A convincing Gustie offense rolled past Macalester, 89-40. 

Power Play Magic Gives Women’s Hockey 3-0 Win Over SMU

For four straight years, the Gusties and the Saint Mary's Cardinals have tied when playing in Winona, with the Cardinals taking last year's matchup in a shootout. The Gusties, determined to put an end to the streak, scored three power play goals to complete the sweep over Saint Mary's, handing the Cardinals their ninth loss of the season, 3-0.

Men’s Hoops Comeback Falls Short in 75-70 Loss to Macalester

The Gustavus men's basketball team cut a 15 point deficit down to one in the second half Saturday against Macalester, but could not complete the comeback in a 75-70 loss.
