The Gusties posted a handful of PR’s and saw a good chunk of top finishers from both teams.

“We have been training hard and it was nice to see Brennan Gustafson come off a personal best in the 800m last week and walk away with another personal best in the 400m this week,” said assistant coach Becki Staley. “It was refreshing to see Bridger Pavelka back and running a very solid time and personal best by four second in the mile. He scored at conference out of the slower heat last year which is the hard way to do it, and we are shooting for the fast heat at the MIAC Championships at the end of the month.”

“In the women’s 800m Sara Moen and Elizabeth Donnelly both had indoor personal best times which is always nice to see this early in the season,” said Staley. “Tierney Winter is also doing really well.  She is trusting in various racing strategies and came up with a three second personal best in the mile.”
FRIDAY RESULTS

“It was a great start to the weekend tonight,” said assistant coach Brenden Huber after Friday’s performance. “On the ladies side we saw four lifetime PR’s and four season PR’s led by Kourtney [Kulseth] who was second overall. She was followed by Iliana [Ramon] who debuted with a lifetime PR and took sixth. For the men, we had a great 2-3-4 punch in the race in Garet [Grant], Andrew [Stumbo], and Ben [Wicklund] with Garet posting a lifetime PR. With a tougher week in training, all the guys showed some solid grit tonight and I was happy with how we competed.”
