Hensch, Hartmann Named April Student-Athletes of the Month

Men's track and field throwing specialist Michael Hensch (Sr., North Branch, Minn.) and women's tennis player Bri Hartmann (Sr., Owatonna, Minn.) have been selected as the Gustavus Adolphus College April Male and Female Student-Athletes of the Month, presented by Thrivent Financial and voted on by the Gustavus Sports Information Department.

Men’s Tennis Begins MIAC Playoffs Thursday

The Gustavus men’s tennis team starts its postseason run Thursday at home against Bethel. The MIAC semifinal match at the Brown Outdoor Tennis Complex begins at 3:30 p.m.

Baseball Splits at Saint Mary’s, Will Play for MIAC Title Saturday

The Gustavus baseball team Wednesday split a doubleheader at Saint Mary’s, winning game one 14-2 and losing the night cap 7-3, snapping a 10-game winning steak. The Gusties are now 22-10 overall and 13-5 in the MIAC, holding a one-game lead in the league standings with two games to play.

Baseball Set for Final Regular Season Road Test at Saint Mary’s

The Gustavus baseball team is set for its final road test of the regular season, traveling to Saint Mary’s for a 2:30 p.m. Wednesday doubleheader. The Gusties enter the games 21-9 overall and 12-4 in the MIAC, sitting atop the league standings, while the Cardinals are 2.5 games behind Gustavus at 11-7 in the MIAC (19-15 overall).

Valentini Joins ITA Board of Directors

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), the not-for-profit governing body of college tennis, welcomed seven new members to its Board of Directors, ITA Chief Executive Officer Timothy Russell announced April 24. Of those seven new members is Gustavus men’s tennis coach Dr. Tommy Valentini.
