Men’s Golf Tied for First at Saint John’s Invite

The Gustavus men's golf team competed at day one of the SJU Spring Invitational on Saturday and came out in a tie for first with Saint John's. The Gusties and Johnnies both tied with scores of 292, while St. Thomas is in third with a 295.

Softball Set for a Trio of Doubleheaders to Close Out Season

The Gustavus softball team will close out its 2019 campaign this upcoming week as they play in three doubleheaders on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. The Black and Gold will host Augsburg Sunday with the games beginning at noon, then travel to Duluth Monday to take on St. Scholastica with games beginning at 2:30 before closing out their season hosting Bethany Lutheran on Tuesday with games starting at 2 p.m.

Men’s Track & Field Wins Eight Events at Drake Alternative

The Gustavus men’s track & field team hosted the Drake Alternative on Friday for its only home meet of the season. Five Gusties captured six first-place finishes – Bridger Pavelka (Jr., Minnetonka, Minn.) in the 1500 meters, Nick Kerbeshian (So., Plymouth, Minn.) in the 5K, Taylor Rooney (So., Andover, Minn.) in the 110 hurdles, Alex Wischnack (Sr., Norwood, Minn.) in the 3000-meter steeplechase, and Michael Hensch (Sr., North Branch, Minn.) in both the shot put and hammer throw.

Women’s Track & Field Successful at Drake Alternative

The Gustavus women’s track & field team hosted the Drake Alternative on Friday for its only home meet of the season. Three Gusties captured first-place finishes – Karley DeKnikker (So., Lake Preston, S.D.) in the 400-meter hurdles, Kourtney Kulseth (So., New Richland, Minn.) in the 3000-meter steeplechase, and Bailey Van Den Heuvel (Sr., Mondovi, Wis.) in the hammer throw.

Men’s Tennis Blanks Macalester 9-0

After nearly two weeks since competing and over a month since its last MIAC match, the No. 16 Gustavus men’s tennis team Friday shut out Macalester 9-0 at the Brown Outdoor Tennis Complex, marking the first outdoor match at home this season.

Baseball Home Doubleheader vs. Augsburg Moved to Sunday

Due to Saturday's weather forecast, the Gustavus vs. Augsburg baseball doubleheader scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday has been moved back to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Gustie Baseball Field.

Men’s Tennis Moved to Rochester Saturday

The Gustavus men's tennis match for Saturday against Carleton has been moved from Carleton to the Rochester Athletic Club in Rochester, Minn. The match will begin at 4:15 p.m.

Softball Changes Schedule to Close Out Season

The Gustavus softball team will close out the 2019 season with three doubleheaders in consecutive days.

Berkner’s 11th Inning Walk-Off Gives Baseball 7-6 Win Over St. Thomas

The Gustavus baseball team Wednesday earned its second walk-off victory in the past week, beating St. Thomas 7-6 in 11 innings for its seventh consecutive win. The game picked up in the top of the 11th after being suspended due to darkness on April 16.

Track & Field Drake Alternative Moved Up to Friday

The Drake Alternative, hosted by the Gustavus track & field team, has been moved up from Saturday to Friday due to expected rainstorms on Saturday. The meet schedule will be posted after entries are submitted later tonight.
