Men’s Hockey Loses 3-1 to No. 15 St. Scholastica

The Gustavus men’s hockey team Friday night lost to No. 15 St. Scholastica 3-1 in non-conference action, dropping to 4-6-1 overall. Despite not getting the win on the ice, Gustavus earned a victory for its charitable efforts by hosting the annual Teddy Bear Toss Game, which collected hundreds of new stuffed animals with donations going to the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital.

Gustavus Head Men’s Basketball Coach Mark Hanson earned his 500th career victory Wednesday night as the Gusties defeated Macalester 87-50. Now in his 29th season at the helm, Hanson becomes the 16th active NCAA Division III men’s basketball coach to reach the milestone with a record of 500-267.

The Gustavus women’s basketball team starts a three-game home stand tonight as it takes on Macalester. The MIAC tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Gus Young Court. The Gusties enter the game 3-4 overall and 0-1 in the MIAC, while the Scots are 2-6 overall and 0-1 in the league.
