Men’s Hoops Heads to Hamline Wednesday for MIAC Opener

The Gustavus men's basketball team begins MIAC play on Wednesday night when it travels to Hutton Arena in St. Paul to take on Hamline in a 7 p.m. contest. Both the Pipers and Gusties enter the contest at 2-2 overall with no MIAC games played.

Trio of Gusties Named United Soccer Coaches All-North Region

United Soccer Coaches released its All-Region Teams on Monday and three Gustavus men’s soccer players were named to the All-North Region Teams. Forward Matt Gibbons (So., Minneapolis, Minn.) is on the First Team, forward Arthur Parens (Sr., Wayzata, Minn.) is on the Second Team, and keeper Anders Severson (Sr., Woodbury, Minn.) is on the Third Team.

Kristina Press Named Women’s Hockey Athlete of the Week

Women's hockey player Kristina Press (Cottage Grove, Minn.) was named MIAC Athlete of the Week for her performance in the Gusties 4-1 win over St. Scholastica.

The Gustavus women’s basketball team won its third straight game at home Tuesday night, defeating Buena Vista 78-49 to improve to 3-1 overall. The Gustie defense played well, forcing 33 turnovers and limiting the Beavers to 32.7 percent shooting.

The Gustavus women's hockey team played host to the College of St. Scholastica Saints on Tuesday night and came away with a 4-1 victory.

Four Gusties Named MIAC Football First Team All-Conference

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference released its football postseason awards Tuesday and four Gustavus student-athletes were named First Team All-Conference – Matt Berkner (Sr., Sleepy Eye, Minn.), Brayton Finch (Jr., Mount Morris, Ill.), Brice Panning (Jr., Hamburg, Minn.), and Michael Veldman (Jr., Becker, Minn.).
