Six Gusties Named USTFCCCA All-Region

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its All-Region honorees Monday for the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season and six Gusties received recognition – Michael Hensch (Jr., North Branch, Minn.) and Taylor Rooney (Fy., Andover, Minn.) on the men’s team, and Alex Anderson (So., Sioux Falls, S.D.), Katie Keelin (So., Burnsville, Minn.), Marisa Morgan (Sr., Rockford, Ill.), and Kayla Stowell (Jr., Le Sueur, Minn.) on the women’s squad.

Volleyball, Women’s Hockey Add Former All-American Gusties To Coaching Staffs

Two Gustavus women’s athletic teams that competed in their respective NCAA Championships last season have bolstered their coaching staffs with All-American graduates of the College. Alyssa Taylor ‘15 and Kirstin Peterson ’11 have been named assistant coaches for volleyball and women’s hockey, respectively.

Alhouni Named ITA Central Region Senior Player Of The Year

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its 2018 Division III Regional Award winners Thursday and Gustavus men’s standout Mohanad Alhouni (Sr., Tripoli, Libya) was named Central Region Senior Player of the Year.

Track & Field Student-Athletes Compete In NCAA Last Chance Meet

Four Gustavus track & field student-athletes competed at an NCAA Final Qualifier on Thursday at UW-La Crosse, hoping to improve their marks to qualify for the NCAA Championships on May 24-26.

Hensch Named MIAC Outstanding Field Athlete, Rooney Joins On All-MIAC Team

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its men’s track & field postseason awards Thursday and two Gustavus student-athletes received recognition. Michael Hensch (Jr., North Branch, Minn.) was named Outstanding Field Athlete after placing in the top-three in four separate events, while Taylor Rooney (Fy., Andover, Minn.) earned All-Conference with first- and second-place finishes.

Men’s Golf Seniors Earn Multiple Postseason Awards

Gustavus men's golf seniors Alec Aunan (Rock Island, Ill.) and Chris Captain (Rochester, Minn.) recently earned accolades from both the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Golf Coaches Association of America. Aunan and Captain were both named MIAC All-Conference as well as Division III Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars, while Aunan was listed as a member of the Division III PING All-Central Region Team.

Swenson Named MIAC Women’s Golf All-Conference

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its women’s golf postseason awards Wednesday and Gustavus senior McKenzie Swenson (Buffalo, Minn.) was named to the All-Conference Team. 

Five Gusties Named To MIAC Baseball All-Conference Team

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2018 All-Conference Baseball Team on Tuesday and five Gusties were honored with postseason accolades. Sam Archer (Jr., Zimmerman, Minn.), Carter Clemensen (Fy., Cologne, Minn.), Nolan Lepel (Sr., Plato, Minn.), Casey Lewandoski (Sr., Fairbanks, Alaska), and Ryan Moriarty (Jr., Le Sueur, Minn.) each represented the Black and Gold.

Webb Named MIAC Softball All-Conference, Three Earn Honorable Mention

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2018 All-Conference Softball Team on Monday with Emily Webb (Jr., Maple Lake, Minn.) representing the Black and Gold with All-MIAC recognition. In addition, Aly Freeman (So., Omaha, Neb.), Kim Kurtzweg (Sr., Arlington, Minn.), and Ashley Neuenfeldt (Fy., Bloomington, Minn.) were Honorable Mention honorees.
