Gustavus women’s tennis player Briana Hartmann (Jr., Owatonna, Minn.) won the ITA Midwest Regional singles championship Sunday with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 decision over Jillian Wallace of UW-Whitewater. Hartmann and Wallace both earned upset victories to reach the title match as each was seeded in the Nos. 9-16 slots. As one of eight region champions, Hartmann captures the 41st All-America award in the history of Gustavus women’s tennis and first since 2011 when three Gusties were named All-America (Sam Frank, Marianne Barau, Megan Gaard).
