Men’s Hockey Wins Third Straight 3-1 Over Hamline

The Gustavus men’s hockey team won its third straight game Friday in a 3-1 decision over Hamline. Isaak Tjaden (Jr., Northfield, Minn.) picked up his first collegiate victory in net after making a career-high 37 saves as the Gusties improve to 5-15-4 overall and 4-10-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Even with the loss, Hamline clinched a playoff berth by virtue of a Saint John’s loss but is battling to stay out of the No. 4-5 play-in game with a 7-5-3 league record (10-9-5 overall).

Twice In A Row, Gymnastics Tallies Second Highest Team Score In Program History

For the second straight meet, the Gustavus gymnastics team posted the second highest team score in program history, totaling 186.275 Friday in a triad against Division I programs Iowa State and Illinois State. Iowa State won the meet with a 195.025, while Illinois State took second at 192.700.

No. 36 Women’s Tennis Heads To Duluth For Trio Of Non-League Matches

The No. 36-ranked Gustavus women’s tennis team travels to Duluth, Minn. this weekend for a trio of non-conference matches. The Gusties face Minnesota-Duluth at 7 p.m. tonight, followed by St. Scholastica and Minnesota-Crookston at 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively, tomorrow. Gustavus enters the weekend with a 2-0 overall record. UM-Duluth is 3-2 overall, St. Scholastica is 4-0, and UM-Crookston is 0-3.

Track & Field Competes At Three Locations This Weekend

The Gustavus men’s and women’s track and field teams will be competing at three different locations this weekend. The women will send the majority of the squad to Minnesota State University-Mankato today to compete in the Birdman Open, while a select few will travel to the University of Minnesota tomorrow for the Parents Day Invite. The men are set to compete at the St. Olaf Tostrud Open tomorrow in Northfield, Minn.

Gymnastics Takes On Division I Opponents Iowa State And Illinois State

The Gustavus gymnastics team travels to Ames, Iowa today to take part in a triad against Division I schools Iowa State and Illinois State. The three-team meet begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Hilton Coliseum on the campus of Iowa State.

Men’s Hockey Concludes Season With Series Against Hamline

The Gustavus men’s hockey team is set to take on Hamline in its final Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference series of the season this weekend. Friday’s game in St. Paul begins at 7 p.m., while Saturday’s game in St. Peter starts at 7:05 p.m. The Gusties enter the series 4-15-4 overall and 3-10-1 in the MIAC after sweeping Bethel last weekend, while the Pipers are 10-8-5 overall and 7-4-3 in the league after tying with Augsburg twice and winning both shootouts.

The No. 9-ranked Gustavus women’s hockey team closes out the regular season this weekend with a series against Hamline University, with MIAC regular season championship hopes on the line. The Gusties (15-5-3, 11-2-3 MIAC) hosts the Pipers (12-10-1, 10-6 MIAC) on Friday for senior night and travels to St. Paul Saturday afternoon.
