Track & Field Set For MIAC Indoor Championships This Weekend

The Gustavus men’s and women’s track and field teams are set to compete at the MIAC Indoor Championships this weekend, hosted by the University of St. Thomas at the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex in St. Paul, Minn. The heptathlon and pentathlon take place Thursday and Friday, while the field and track events are Friday and Saturday. Last season, the Gustie men took eighth place with 48 points, while the women also took eighth with 48.5 points.

Men’s Hockey Ties Hamline 4-4, Wins Eight-Round Shootout In Season Finale

Regulation wasn’t enough time to finish the season at Don Roberts Ice Rink and neither was overtime as the Gustavus men’s hockey team concluded its season with a thrilling eight-round shootout victory over Hamline Saturday on Senior Night. Hamline erased a two-goal deficit in the third period to tie the game 4-4, and neither team scored in the overtime, but the Gusties would have the last laugh as Erik Johnson (Sr., Sauk Rapids, Minn.) ended his career by denying six shots in the shootout, skating off the ice a winner for the final time.
