The Gustavus men’s hockey team lost a 3-0 decision to No. 10-ranked Augsburg on Friday night, falling to 1-5-1 overall and 0-3 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, while the Auggies remain unbeaten at 6-0-1 overall and 1-0 in the league.

Men’s Basketball Drops Season Opener 81-60 At Buena Vista

The Gustavus men’s basketball team opened its season Friday with an 81-60 non-conference loss at Buena Vista University. The Gusties kept the score close for most of the second half, but an 11-point run by the Beavers in the final three minutes sealed the victory for the home team.

Women’s Basketball Tops St. Scholastica, 79-38

The Gustavus women's basketball team earned its second win of the season as the duo of Mikayla Miller (Jr., Goodhue, Minn.) and Miranda Rice (Jr., Forest Lake, Minn.) each tallied 16 points to lead the Gusties to a 79-38 victory over the College of St. Scholastica Friday evening at Gus Young Court.

Men’s Hockey Faces Off Against Augsburg This Weekend

The Gustavus men's hockey team is set for an away-home series against Augsburg College this weekend. Friday's Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game begins at 7 p.m. in Minneapolis, Minn. at Ed Saugestad Rink, while Saturday's game beings at 5:05 p.m. in St. Peter at Don Roberts Ice Rink. The Gusties enter the weekend with a 1-4-1 overall record and 0-2 mark in the MIAC, while the Auggies are 5-0-1 overall and have yet to play a game in the league.

Swimming & Diving Hosts Third Annual Race For Grace

The Gustavus men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are set to host the third annual Grace Goblirsch Memorial Invitational on Saturday at the Vic Gustafson Pool. The Race For Grace honors former Gustie swimmer Grace Goblirsch who passed away on August 23, 2013 after fighting a courageous eight-month battle with acute myelogenous leukemia.

New-Look Men’s Basketball Squad Tips Off Season Friday

Head Coach Mark Hanson is in his 27th season at the helm of the Gustavus men’s basketball team and his squad is looking to improve on an eighth place finish in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference a year ago when it went 9-11 in the league. Last season’s team posted a 12-13 overall record, although Gustavus proved to be competitive while keeping a majority of games within single digits. The 2016-17 MIAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll ranked Gustavus seventh.
