Women’s Hockey Begins Series With UW-River Falls Tonight

The Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey team will compete in an unorthadox Wednesday-Friday series against the University of Wisconsin-River Falls this week. Tonight, the Gusties travel to River Falls, Wisconsin to take on the Falcons in a 7 p.m. matchup, and return home Friday for the series finale at Don Roberts Ice Rink at 7 p.m. Gustavus enters the series with a 3-4-3 overall record, while UW-River Falls comes into the series at 8-2-0 and ranked No. 8 in the country.

Women’s Basketball Hosts Bethel Wednesday

The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s basketball team is set to return home for the first time since Nov. 21 on Wednesday when it welcomes Bethel University for a 7 p.m game. Gustavus heads into the contest with a 4-2 overall record and 1-1 mark in the MIAC, while Bethel enters the game at 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

Men’s Basketball Takes On Unbeaten Bethel Wednesday

The Gustavus men’s basketball team continues its road trip in the MIAC on Wednesday night as it takes on Bethel University at 7 p.m. The Gusties enter the contest with a 3-2 overall record and 1-1 mark in the league after a 79-70 setback at Augsburg College on Saturday night in Minneapolis, while the Royals have started the season with a perfect 6-0 record and 1-0 mark in the MIAC after beating Concordia College 75-66 on Saturday in Arden Hills.

Matthew Boyce, Mitch Hendricks Named To D3football.com All-West Region Team

For the second straight season, Gustavus Adolphus College football players Matthew Boyce (Sr., Excelsior, Minn.) and Mitch Hendricks (Sr., Bemidji, Minn.) have been nominated to the D3football.com All-West Region Team. Boyce has been named to the First Team, while Hendricks is on the Third Team.

Mikayla Miller Named MIAC Women’s Basketball Athlete Of The Week

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's basketball team continued to benefit from the scoring prowess of sophomore guard Mikayla Miller (Goodhue, Minn.) when the team entered MIAC play last week. Gustavus went 1-1 against a pair of 2015 MIAC Playoff teams, with Miller averaging 19.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.5 steals, 3.5 assists per game while shooting 52 percent from the floor and 81.8 percent from the line. For her performance, the MIAC sports information directors honored Miller Monday with the MIAC Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award.

Swimming & Diving Concludes 2015 At Jean Freeman Invitational

Competing against NCAA Division I, II and III competition, the Gustavus Adolphus College men’s and women's swimming and diving team produced solid results at the 2015 Jean Freeman Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Women’s Basketball Earns First Conference Win With 59-54 Victory Over Augsburg

Playing in its third consecutive road contest, the Gustavus Adolphus College women's basketball team picked up its first conference win of the season, earning a 59-54 victory over Augsburg College on Saturday afternoon at Si Melby Hall. The win moves Gustavus to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the MIAC, while Augsburg falls to 5-3 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

Women’s Hockey Falls 3-2 To Saint Benedict In Overtime Heartbreaker

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's hockey team suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to the College of Saint Benedict on Saturday afternoon at Don Roberts Ice Rink. Similar to last night's game, the Gusties took a 2-1 lead into the final minutes of the game, but were not able to hold on, as the Blazers earned an extra-attacker goal at the 18:34 mark to tie the game. However, this time around Saint Benedict was able to find the net in overtime as well, as Maddie Rainey snuck one past Gustie goalie Lindsey Hibbard (Sr., Princeton, Minn.) to earn the victory for the visitors. With the loss, Gustavus falls to 3-4-3 overall and 2-2-2 in the MIAC, while Saint Benedict improves to 2-5-1 overall and picks up its first conference win to move its league record to 1-4-1.

Men’s Hockey Wins Another Overtime Thriller, 2-1 Against Saint John’s

For the second time in three games, the Gustavus men’s hockey team skated away with an overtime victory as it defeated Saint John’s University 2-1 on Saturday afternoon to improve to 3-5-2 overall and 2-4 in the MIAC. The game-winner came 3:20 into the overtime period as a close shot from the right side by Drew Aspinwall (Jr., Maple Grove, Minn.) was turned away behind the goal. Van Sullivan (Fy., Brentwood, Tenn.) then gathered the puck and found Alex Koopmeiners (Jr., St. Cloud, Minn.) in front of the crease as he took a quick slap-shot that went past the blocker side of the Johnnie goalie for the sudden death win.

Men’s Basketball Falls To Augsburg 79-70

The Gustavus men’s basketball team got off to a quick start Saturday at Augsburg College with a 9-2 lead after the first three minutes of play, but the Auggies responded with a 14-2 run to take a lead they would not let go of the rest of the way resulting in a 79-70 final score. The loss is the first in MIAC play by the Gusties as they fall to 1-1 in the league and 3-2 overall.
