Women’s Hockey Remains No. 2 In Latest USCHO.com Poll Posted on February 26th, 2013 by

St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s hockey team remained No. 2 in this week’s edition of the Unites States Hockey Online (USCHO.com) Division III women’s hockey poll, which was released Monday.  The Gusties finished the regular season 24-0-1 and sit behind No. 1 Plattsburgh State, which posts a record of 23-0-2 on the year, for the 12th straight week.  It is the first time a Gustavus team has finished the season unbeaten and the first time in the history of NCAA Division III women’s hockey that two teams have completed the regular season without a loss in the same year.  Plattsburgh and Gustavus are just the second and third Division III teams to tally an unbeaten record in the NCAA Championship era, which began in the 2001-02 season.  The Gusties will be back on the ice Thursday, Feb. 28th when they host the winner of Bethel and St. Catherine in the semifinal round of the MIAC playoffs.
