The 2011 volleyball season signaled an incredible turnaround from bottom feeder to playoff contender in the MIAC. The Gusties finished the 2010 season with a 7-19 record and were last in league play. Men’s Golf In 11th At NCAA Championships After Day One

The Gustavus men’s golf team shot a 301 (+13) in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championships Tuesday in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. and sits in 11th place. Host institution Oglethorpe leads the field of 41 after recording a 285 (-3) at the Mission Inn Resort & Club. Claremont Mudd Scripps and Christopher Newport both shot a 289 (+1) and are tied for second.

 

Women’s Basketball Announces Team Awards At Annual Banquet

The Gustavus women’s basketball held its annual awards banquet last week in the Heritage Room of the Jackson Student Center. Senior wing Molly Geske highlighted the event’s awards ceremony by being named the team’s Most Valuable Player.

Men’s Golf Set To Compete In NCAA Championships Tuesday

The Gustavus men’s golf team is prepared to compete in the NCAA Division III Championships on Tuesday, May 15 through Friday, May 18 held at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. After claiming second place in last October’s MIAC Championships and taking first and second in their last two meets, the Gusties earned an at-large bid into this year’s NCAA Tournament.

 

Men’s Tennis Falls In NCAA Regional Final To No. 15 Washington University

The Gustavus men’s tennis team ended its season Sunday afternoon in Whitewater, Wis., falling to 15th-ranked Washington University in St. Louis 5-0 in an NCAA Division III Regional title match. Washington advances to the eight-team championship series with a 17-6 record, while the Gusties end their campaign at 22-8 – the most wins in a season during head coach Tommy Valentini’s three years at the helm.
