Gustavus keeper Jessica Richert tallied seven saves against Augsburg.

The Gustavus women’s soccer team dropped a MIAC bout to Augsburg 1-0 Saturday night in Minneapolis, Minn. Bri Clark’s goal in the 23rd minute proved to be the game-winner, improving the Auggies to 7-6-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the MIAC. The Gusties fall to 3-10-0 overall and 1-6-0 in conference play.

At the 23:41 mark in the first period, Olivia Muyres and Lindsey Niederhaus found Clark 15 yards out in front of the Gustie goal, who connected for the score in the upper right corner of the net. The goal was Clark’s ninth of the season, which ranks third in the MIAC.

Gustavus keeper Jessica Richert kept the Gusties in contention throughout the contest collecting seven saves, but the offense couldn’t find its rhythm to connect for a score. The Black & Gold registered 12 shots, while Augsburg fired 22 shots. Augsburg keeper Katie Gajewski tallied four saves.

The Gusties will host Bethel (7-4-2 overall, 2-3-1 MIAC) for another MIAC contest on Tuesday, Oct. 18. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. on the Gustie Soccer Field.
